RIDGELAND, MS - February 16, 2005 - Diversified Technology, Inc. announced today the release of the TrexSys-4XD packaged PCI/ISA Platform. This high performance system is designed for intensive applications such as Electric Utility Monitoring, Network Management and Billing, Industrial Automation, R&D Projects, Surveillance and Security, and Military Command and Control Systems. The LBC9326, which powers the system, is based on the Intel® E7520 Chipset and utilizes single or dual Low Voltage Intel® Xeon® Processors at 2.8GHz with an 800MHz front side bus.

This rackmount solution packs high performance into a small footprint. In addition to the multi-processor options, the TrexSys-4XD provides high PCI and ISA slot counts for third party I/O to accommodate legacy installations. The industrial design readily deploys to industrial and government applications that are subjected to elevated thermal and shock environments. The 4U system is also a cost-effective option for enterprise applications such as enhanced services and messaging for the wireline and wireless communications market. DTI's TrexSys-4XD system assists multiple vertical markets in bridging existing solutions with next generation technology.
Diversified Technology's TrexSys-4 (4U) chassis is designed for use with DTI's high performance PCI single board computers, which includes the new LBC9326 dual Xeon SBC. Part of DTI's embedded rackmount chassis product family, the TrexSys-4 provides exceptional capacity and expandability in a rack-efficient package that is ideal for applied computing applications. The modular design delivers support for extended reliability and ease of serviceability.
The TrexSys-4
chassis is highly configurable by offering a floppy drive and three front
accessible 5.25" drive bays to accommodate RAID solutions and removable
drive carriers. An additional, internal 3.5" hard drive bay is available
with the single 460W power supply option. A USB port, power on/off switch,
hard drive activity and power on LED indicators complete the front panel.
The 14-slot chassis features an open architecture design that supports
industry standard PCI/ISA single board computers and full-length I/O cards.
Multiple backplane options are available to fit the need of the application.
For high performance applications, DTI offers an active PCI bridged backplane
that supports up to nine 64-bit PCI slots running up to 66MHz for high
performance I/O Cards. Other backplanes are available that support four
to twelve
32-bit/33MHz PCI slots and up to eight ISA slots.
The LBC9326 single board computer features single or dual Low Voltage Intel Xeon processors with 800MHz System Bus, 1MB L2 cache, Symmetric Multi-Processing 1.4 compliant, and up to 8GB dual channel, DDR2 SDRAM DIMMs, and full ECC support. Onboard are two 10
Base-T/100 Base-TX/1000 Ethernet auto-negotiating controllers, dual channel Serial ATA support, four USB ports, serial/parallel ports, floppy interface, a PCI SVGA CRT, and flat-panel controller with 8 MB of SDRAM memory.
The LBC9326 uses the Intel® E7520 chipset, providing 2 x 1 PCI Express Links. The Intel® 6300ESB I/O Controller Hub (ICH) provides two PCI busses for added support. The 32-bit/33MHz onboard PCI bus links the Video controller, while the other 64-bit/66MHz PCI bus is routed to the backplane and supports up to two 64-bit/66MHz or four 64-bit/33MHz PCI I/O expansion slots. The Intel 6300ESB ICH also supports USB, Serial ATA at speeds up to 150MB/s, and an LPC bus linking to an SMSC LPC47B272 Super I/O that provides legacy PC-AT I/O. ISA support for 8-bit cards is also available.
Product shipments will be available Q1, 2005. The TrexSys-4XD is priced at $3,411.00 with a dual processor LBC9326 at 2.8GHz and with 1MB L2 Cache. Single processor options are also available.
