ES3 was designed for AdvancedTCA and CompactPCI Ethernet Switch blades and can significantly enhance the functionality of the switch by incorporating numerous software feature enhancements and additions.

DTI has invested significant time into the development and testing of ES3. It represents best in class Ethernet switching software features which are not available from other COTS-based switches. VRRP Object Tracking	An extension of VRRP that allows customers tod efine more robust failover conditions for VRRP, including link failures and route reachability
L2 Failover with LAG Support	L2 Failover works at the interface level instead of the protocol level. Customers can achieve sub 50ms failover times in the case of link, route, or switch failures
Updated Multicast Module	The multicast module has been revamped to support an updated set of multicast RFCs and includes significant new features such as MLD support, simultaneous IGMP snopping and multicast routing, IGMP querying, and SSM support
Other Updates	sFlow Support IPv6 Management and Support in QoS Module Updated LLDP and CDP Interoperability STP Enhancements such as Root Guard iSCSI Flow Acceleration Improved Security More User Control over Protocol Options such as LAG Hash Algorithm
